The China Corridor

A Swiss Platform for Chinese Business in Europe

For Chinese entrepreneurs building in Europe, jurisdiction choice has become strategy. Trade tension has made some European flags complicated; others lack the banking depth serious business requires. Switzerland occupies a position no other jurisdiction holds: politically neutral, outside the European Union yet at the centre of Europe, and home to one of the longest continuous commercial relationships China has with any Western country.

A Swiss company gives Chinese ownership a European platform that is respected in Frankfurt and Paris without being subject to them. That neutrality is not an abstraction; it shows up in banking, in procurement and in how partnerships are priced.

Why Switzerland alongside your operations

Neutral ground, by design

Switzerland's neutrality is constitutional, not rhetorical. For Chinese groups navigating a complicated decade in Europe, a Swiss entity is the flag that carries the least political weight and the most commercial respect.

A free trade relationship few can match

Switzerland was among the first European economies to conclude a free trade agreement with China, alongside a double taxation agreement that supports structured flows in both directions.

Banking that understands international ownership

Swiss banks assess Chinese owned structures on preparation and substance. We build the file to that standard and introduce clients to institutions matched to their profile.

Switzerland and China have a double taxation agreement in force, revised in 2013, alongside a bilateral free trade agreement. Structured flows between the two countries enjoy support most European jurisdictions cannot offer. We confirm the current position for each mandate.

How we build it

Seraama is a Zug based boutique founded by a UK qualified lawyer with twenty three years of international corporate experience. We form the Swiss company, provide the resident director and registered office that give it real substance, prepare the banking file and make the introduction. One firm, one standard, personally accountable for what we build.

We take a limited number of clients, principally from the Gulf, Asia, Africa and Latin America, and most arrive through professional referral. Fees are quoted in writing after a short consultation; we do not publish price lists, deliberately.

Questions we hear from this corridor

Why Switzerland rather than an EU member state?

Switzerland offers European standing without European Union membership: no EU level reporting frameworks aimed at member states, a separate and neutral political position, and banking depth no single EU jurisdiction matches. For many Chinese groups, that combination is exactly the point.

Can a Swiss company help with European market access?

Yes. A Swiss entity contracts with European counterparties as a respected European neighbour, and Switzerland's bilateral agreements with the EU keep trade friction low. Where a group later needs an EU subsidiary, the Swiss company is the natural parent for it.

What does the formation process require from a China based owner?

Certified identity documents, evidence of source of funds, and clarity on the intended business. The capital deposit account at a Swiss bank sets the pace, at four weeks or more, which is why we open that file on day one. Once the account is open, the formation itself completes within two to four weeks: six to eight weeks end to end, managed from Zug, without travel.
